The International Leadership Program brings NYC public school students to India, to teach them 21st Century leadership skills and prepare them for college.
Through workshops and cultural excursions in their own city and a 3-week cultural immersion experience in North India, students meet and work with influential community leaders and NGOs to analyze the strategies they are using to solve problems in their communities.
Once the students return home, drawing from their experiences across the globe and new perspectives, they implement these strategies in a community project they develop and lead at their schools.
The ILP empowers students who are often marginalized by underfunded schools, teaching them about thinking globally and acting locally and unveiling their potential to make a difference.
The program assists students in the college application and placement process, helping them give voice to their experiences in sharing with their potential universities how they would bring these leadership experiences to their college careers.
